Core Services – Support Groups and Counselling

WE HAVE 2 CORE SERVICES – See Below for full details

‘You in Mind’ Peer Support Groups

We provide Support groups across the country at 7 different centre locations: Melksham, Chippenham, Devizes, Malmesbury, Salisbury, Tidworth and Trowbridge.  The weekly sessions provide a safe, friendly place where anyone with mental health issues can find support and friendship. Each Centre is open for 3 hours per week and is staffed by a part time sessional Centre Manager and a number of volunteer Support Workers.  These sessions are well attended and a real lifeline to those suffering mental illness and isolation.  The sessions involve chatting to others who are experiencing similar issues and enjoying new activities held at the groups.  Most recently groups have taken part in activities ranging from art and dance to nutrition.  It is hoped that many more activities can be funded to ensure that these groups remain fresh and interesting to clients. Clients contribute a small amount per visit towards costs and have an opportunity to shape the service.

Counselling Service

At our Head Office in Melksham we provide 1-1 counselling support for people who are suffering with stress, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem or emotional distress. The service provides clients with counselling, we will listen in a non judgemental way, provide a safe and confidential place to talk and to think about feelings enabling clients to find a solution that works best for each individual. Clients are assessed by a fully qualified Counselling Lead before being offered the service. Our counsellors are trained and are supervised in accordance with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy Code of Ethics & Standards. Wiltshire Mind provides the counselling service at a reasonable cost, a donation is requested of between £15 and £30 per session, depending on what the client can afford.

In January 2019 we launched our new Young People’s Service which provides support to those 11+ experiencing mental health issues.  This is provided two afternoons/evenings per week at Melksham.  We ask for a donation of £15 per session for the young people’s counselling.

We are a self funding charity which means we do need to charge a minimal amount for our services.

For more information or to book an initial assessment please contact: or telephone: 01225 706532.
