About Us

Founded in 1993, Wiltshire Mind provides a friendly, safe place where people experiencing mental health issues can find support and friendship. We do this through our "You in Mind" Centres operating at several locations throughout the county, run by trained staff who ensure that everyone can spend time to meet with others on their journey to recovery.

We also run a Counselling service from our head office in Melksham, staffed by qualified staff and volunteers. Our Clients may be referred to us by a doctor or social worker, or they can self-refer.

We are an independent registered charity and company limited by guarantee, which is also affiliated to Mind.

We value our independence. This gives us the freedom to speak out on the real issues surrounding mental health which affect daily lives. The needs of those experiencing or in contact with mental health issues drive our work and we will make sure that their voices are heard by those who influence change.

We do all this to make it possible for those who experience mental distress to live full lives and play their full part in society.

Of course, all the above work has a cost! We don't receive any statutory funding, so a strong fundraising strategy is a MUST - every penny counts. We are very grateful for whatever you can raise no matter how little. If you are a UK taxpayer you can Gift-Aid your donation which means that we receive an extra 25% courtesy of Revenue and Customs.

Remember, it's not all about money; if you can't afford to donate you can volunteer your spare time or set up a charity challenge and achieve the unthinkable.
